Simplicity 3536 in Tie Dye Knit

Second top I've made in View A. This time in a beautiful tie dyed polyester?/lycra knit that I found at the thrift store in 2007.

This time I added an extra 4" of ruching to the sides.

  1. Hi! Can you tell me how you did the ruching? Thanks!

  2. The ruching is done with clear elastic. You take a piece of elastic that's about 1/3 the length of the fabric you are ruching. Stretch out the elastic to fit the fabric, and sew it on with a straight stitch. The elastic makes the gathers.
