It was a cold (6c or so) and drizzling day, but hey, it's August in Alberta, any weather is "normal" here and we try not to let it stop us!
There was a kid's race, so Eric and Leah gave it a try. There were maybe 12 kids all together, and mine came in dead last, of course. They got a cookie medal for their effort, which was quickly eaten! Note that they are wearing winter coats.

Then it was my turn. I'm in the blue jacket, setting my watch.
At the finish, stopping my watch.
My results:
Overall: 28/135
Time:00:27:08.65
Pace (miles) 08:45
Age category result 5K30-39: 7/29
That beat my last 5k time, so I'm happy enough with it.
I bought that blue Asics water resistant jacket just two days before - at the Tech Shop's Women's Night and race package pickup. I'm very glad that I got it! I barely got warm enough to be comfortable.
There were people here and there along the race course to direct you and cheer you on! My favorite was the Lululemon group, of course! They had a vehicle with the red manifesto print all over it! I was wearing lulu socks, underthings, headband, silverescent tank and the white run top (along with the Asics jacket and Nike pants). The run took you down the road, under a bridge, then on the pathway along the Bow River, so there was some nice scenery, but also potholes and loose gravel to watch out for!
Congratulation ! I guess I would have a heartattack ;-)
